When the student is ready to move on to cursive, we like the Handwriting Without Tears cursive books. Mix up handwriting practice with copywork selections from books being read, scripture, songs, etc. If your child isn’t ready to freehand copy, use online worksheet creators like the Handwriting Without Tears Digital Teaching Tools).
After my kids had completed most of the HWOT cursive books, they still were not comfortable writing cursive freehand. I purchased this DNCursive font pack ($20) to create pages for them to copy.
